Introduction

The main bioactivator compounds in Fructus Cnidii Extract are coumarins,which includes osthole, bergapten, isopimpinellin, columbianadin, archangelicin, edultin, O-acetylcolumianetin, O-isovalerycolumbianetin, cniforin A, xanthotoxol, xanthotoxin, imperatorin etc.

Osthole (CAS NO. 484-12-8, Molecular Formula: C15H16O3)  also called as Osthol, is a kind of coumarins in the Fructus Cnidii Extract, which is extracted from the seed (Fructus Cnidii)of the plant “Cnidium monnieri (L.) Cuss.”.

Osthole has functions of Antifungus, Antivirus, anti-inflammatory, anesthetization and Enhancing Immune etc.

Application

1) Pharmaceutical field to stimulate sexual desire and enhance human immunity.

2) Cosmetic Field to Improve the pathological changes of psoriasis, with strong anti-inflammatory, anti-allergy, antipruritic effect

3) Osthole: A natural ingredient in botanical Pesticides & Bactericide (botanical source) to control diseases and pests:
A) It has inhibitory effect on gibberellum and Rhizoctonia solani of wheat.
B) As for cucumber and cabbage downy mildew, cucumber powdery mildew, apple leaf blight, orthomycosis and other plant pathogens Fungi, The Osthole has a broad spectrum of inhibitory activity.
C) Killing effect on the larval lepidoptera tea geometrid, plutella xylostella, rapeseed, the newly hatched noctuidae, aphid.
